There will be a quiz on Langston Hughes’ “Thank You, M’am” tomorrow in class.  There will be five true/false questions and at least one bonus question.  We read the story in class today.

Essay Assignment for English I

In class we read “The Birds” by Daphne du Maurier and watched The Birds directed by Alfred Hitchcock.  Students need to write an essay comparing and contrasting the two in  paper that follows this format - Essay Assignment for The Birds.  We will go over the format in more detail in class tomorrow.  This essay will be graded for mechanical errors as well as completion and content.

English I - Collection One Test

There will be a test on all five stories and the literary elements from Collection One this Friday, September 19.  I gave out this study guide today - Collection One Study Guide.  Also, the notebooks, which are a collection of all of the work we completed in class about those stories, will be due on Friday as well.  Here is a copy of the checklist which lists all assignments that should be in the notebooks - Checklist for Collection One.  Please email me if you have any questions!

Upcoming Quizzes - English I and English II

In English I, we will finish listenting to “The Birds” by Daphne DuMaurier tomorrow.  The quiz, which will be a short answer quiz with five questions, will be given on Monday, September 15.

 In English II, we will listen to “The Book of Sand” tomorrow.  If we do not finish in class, it will be assigned for homework.  The quiz for this story will be on Sept. 15.
