Gladiators!!!

Students have been studying the Colosseum and Roman Entertainment.  Notes were collected for a grade.  If a student has missed this section please have them complete p. 182 in their textbook by answering questions 1 and 2.

Outline Notes

Students have been working on outlining the first section of Chapter 6- the Roman Republic.  After going over how to outline, the students created their own, and then viewed mine to fill in gaps.  Outline notes attached!beginning-rome-outline.doc

Learning to Take Notes

We are beginning Ancient Rome with learning how to take outline notes from our reading!  Students are in process of taking outline notes for a grade.  Ch. 6, Sec. 1 will be due on Friday.

Come prepared to battle in a phalanx!  Bring your best and prepare for the cold, although it should be a bit warmer than last week!  SPARTTTTTAAAAAA!

War- Shields

This week we have spent time working on creating shields.  We will reproduce a Spartan phalanx (vocab. word) on Monday.  Plans were to do it Friday but chilly (or below freezing weather) has pushed us to Monday!  War!!!!  Students will earn a grade for decorating their shield with a personality collage.

Athens v. Sparta

Students will get into groups to complete a Venn Diagram on Athens and Sparta.  The Venn Diagram will be turned in for a classwork grade.

Greece Notes

Students spent two days in lecture.  They took notes on the Hellenic Culture and these were turned in for a grade!

Climate WS and accompanying Pop Essay

Students worked on the Climate and Geography of Greece!  Then a pop essay to see if they were able to bring patterns from the first semester into the second in a in class five paragraph essay.  This will be used as a grade in English and Social Studies.
