Beta Club October Service Projects

Attention Beta Club members!  There is an Adopt-a-Highway event scheduled for this Saturday, October 18, from 9-11 in the morning.  Please bring work gloves and wear clothes/shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.  Meet in front of the school at 9. 
Also, we’ll be helping the SPCA collect dry cat and dog food throughout the month.  Please bring your donations to Ms. Bridgman’s room.

Delta GEMS

The Summerville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority invites all high school young ladies to join Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) Saturday, October 18, 2:00 pm at Dubose Middle School. Join to bond with likeminded young ladies interested in bettering themselves and learning about college planning, public service, etiquette, finances, and health and beauty.  See Ms. Howard in room 179 for more information.

Drivers Ed Test-UPDATE

The next drivers ed test will be administered here on October 16, 2008. It will begin at 6:15 promptly and be in room 173. Please be sure to bring your social security number with you. You may sign up on the bulletin board outside of Mrs. Watson’s office in Guidance as soon as possible. Thank you!

French Honor Society and French Club meeting

FHS and club members will meet next Wednesday, October 15th at the end of the school day (12 noon) to put together the scarecrow. The meeting will be in room 259. Please bring any materials that you have to work on this project.

Vacation Picures Needed

If anyone had a fun vacation over the summer and wants their pictures in the yearbook bring them by Mrs. Travis’s room, 171.  They can be either digital or print make sure to include your first and last name, grade, and where the pictures were taken!  Needed by October 15.

Attention Teachers

Attention Teachers:  Flu shot sign up:  See the nurses to sign up for your flu shots.  The cost is $25 and will need to be paid for at the time that you sign up.  Please see the nurse before 2 p.m. each day.  The last day to sign up will be October 15, 2008.  If writing a check, please make it payable to Summerville High School.  The shot will be given at a later date.

NJROTC MONTLY FLAG RAISING CEREMONY

WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU PUBLICKLY DISPLAYED YOUR PATRIOTISM?? IF IT’S BEEN A WHILE, WHY NOT JOIN THE NAVY JROTC TOMARROW MORNING AT 7:00 AM AT THE FLAG POLE IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL. THE FLAG RAISING WILL COMMEMORATE THE 233 rd BIRTHDAY OF THE U.S. NAVY.
