I would like to welcome you to Summerville High School and hope that the information you seek can be accessed to your satisfaction.Summerville High School has a long standing tradition of excellence in providing quality educational and co-curricular opportunities for students in Dorchester School District Two. Academically, students have access to the core academics required to take advantage of post-secondary opportunities and a wide array of electives, programs in the arts, and career-technical courses that build on student interests and talents.The Marching Green Wave Band has built a reputation of precision, showmanship, and musical ability that is recognized across the state and an outstanding fine arts program features chorus, theatre, dance programs, and the visual arts. We strongly support the diverse interests of our students through numerous clubs and organizations and are proud of the generous efforts of the Summerville High PTSA and our local business community. We also appreciate the ongoing leadership of a cooperative Board of Education and a pro-active superintendent.Summerville has amassed a storied athletic tradition over the years. Our successful football program, led by Coach John McKissick for 55 years, is a source of pride. Coach McKissick has won more football games than any other coach in history, at any level of play. Our other Summerville High athletic teams also present quality athletic opportunities; many of our successful programs perform consistently at a championship level.
